Tulip Gardens

Well today was family day and we chose to go the tulip festival in woodburn. It was the best type of day not to sunny and just enough cloud cover to not get hot and sweaty.
It has changed since we went here last year. Can you say commercialization!! It was like we were at a county fair. There were all sorts of rides and things that cost money. When we were here last year it had the garden of course then just some odds and ends of fun for the kids. They had all that plus MORE. Seeing as how we didn't count on spending money we had packed a picnic lunch and snacks. So I sat down with the kids and reminded them that we can have fun without spending money and that we were gonna prove it today. They thought it was a good idea. I forget they can read(they are 11 and 8) they quickly saw that the tickets were a dollar apiece and the rides took 3-5 each. They didn't want to go on any. So today was a great day to see what we could do.
First we went out to the gardens and looked at all the different colors.
Then we went and looked at the steam engines, they had one going when we got over there so awesome. Then as the day went on we did some fun in the sandbox, horse swings, rubber ducky races, roping the cow, played in a pile of hay and went down a roller slide. They had some rescue birds there that loved kids and the kids were allowed to hold them! How awesome is that.
All in all it was one of our best times this year.
Today made me realize how awesome my kids are. They were polite, understanding, full of fun and proved to me that money means not that much to kids and they get it when stuff is too expensive. Man we have done a great job with these guys. They make me so proud. I got a compliment on them today, not once did they cry and apparently someone was watching and said that ours were probably the only ones not whining and wanting money. :)
Yeah for us!!

Scout Expo

Sunny day+3kids=FUN
They had there doubts, they complained the whole way there. They kept mentioning the fact that last year was kinda lame and they didnt want to stay very long. I told them I needed to stay as long as we could so that I could make sure Di had a break a few times today. SO off we went into the school grounds. As we were walking to find our spot with the Pack I could see there eyes wandering and I scoped it out to make sure if they wanted to wander off without me they would be safe. I felt pretty good about it, with police officers and fire fighters outside at every turn. We went in and found Di hard at work already and I pitched right in to help. It was almost instant, they wanted to go explore already, the voice inside me wanted to shout "I TOLD YOU SO!!" But I kept my cool and said, "Just check in with me every 15-20 minutes please. OFF they went and hours later we were done and ready to go find dad at home. All in all it was a good day.

We had so much fun today,

the scout expo was great and the sun was shining all day.
Tons of activities for the kids to do.

Our booth was bottle rockets and

there were also booths inside two buildings.

One had the Derby in, and some booths which were
forestry-make wood necklaces,
frog folding origami-camp nee deep,
fastpitch, leather pressing,
car safety, forest safety.

The other builing had geology-earn the belt loop,
lego collection, catapults-they went fast, indian drums,
collections of old patches and
outside was the
ZIP-LINE!!!

(our fearless leader DAVE)
We had a blast.

3rd Grade Field Trip

This is my group for the day!
Handsome young men.

We are on a scavanger hunt
and are looking to see something in the water.

In the SilverFalls Rainforrest,
Looking up in the canapy of trees.

This is a nurseing tree, when old trees die or are left alone they end up with some sort of plant life growing out of it.
This Natures way of "recycling"

This is the one of the falls in the park
and we went down under it.

I just wanted a picture of the falls.

I goofed on the picture snap but I
like how it turned out.

Here we are underneath the falls.
Its quite breezy down here.

Mickey and his buddy just hanging out.

THis is the famous Oregon Slug.
Its just a baby, they can get up to something like 4 inches long, EEWWW!

We had so much fun I cant wait to go back with the family and have more time to explore everything. I have been going here since I was little and remember hiking all over the place. Now it has so much new stuff. Lodges, cabins, snack shack, playground and easier hiking trails!! I am so thankful to live near such a beautiful place.

My Confessions

My time for confessions

I confess to the following with nothing being held back and i just hope you dont judge me to harshly.

I confess....

to eating the most of the choclolate candy.

to telling hubby I will do the dishes and then just giggle at him when he leaves the room.

to letting my Clean laundry build up in the corner of the frontroom until no one has anything clean in the dressers.

to letting the dishes set over night then decide to do them later. (Hee Hee)

to "forgetting" to wash the sheets once a week everyother week sometimes.

to cheating on the ponytail challenge- i put it in one when i get home and put it back up when i go out.

to telling the kids "I'm listening" then ask them what they said later on.

to telling them "oh no, the tooth fairy forgot last night" and remind them to do it again tonight.

to not moping the kitchen three times a week like I used to.

to owning over 500 movies on DVD, not including kids movies.

that i dont read books to them Every night like i should.

to not showing support for the teacher when i dont like her decisions.

to swearing sometimes in front of the kids.

to being the one that taught my kids to yell "its green so go!!" to the drivers in front of us on the road.

that everything is true and there are a ton more, but not ready to tell my readers the rest!!

Well that felt good!!
I also confess to showing my kids that the best feeling in the whole world is mud in between your toes!!

Picture a Day #7

Well today was girls day out.
That includes my mom, grandma, aunt and myself.
We decided that since my aunt was going to live with my grandparents for a while she needed some new clothes and such. So we ventured out to salem and went for the first time to the "dig 'n dive" goodwill. Never have been there before we decided we would have a blast. Its definantly different, and not sure what i really expected.
But this is what the four of us came away with.
A FULL TRUNK load!!!
(poohbear costume, babyclothes-for the cousin, books, christmas stuff, etc.)
You pay by the pound and the more you buy the cheaper it is.
its like a 1.69 per pound, then at like 20lbs its 99cents and then over 50lbs its 69cents.
Its different but got some good deals.

Picture a Day #6

Well this is what happened tonight for dinner!
I hate mcdonalds but my stove won't work, again.
The units take over 45 min to get warm and to boil a pot of water so there went homemade mac and cheese with ham for dinner tonight.
This sucks.

Picture a Day #5

Well i forgot to take the camera with us when we went out to play. We went to a park that is on the way to corvallis and it has the frisbee golf, a play ground and baseball fields. We brought with us a frisbee and just tossed it around. The boys played with lightsabers. Sam just ran around and teased them(like a sister does so well :)

When we got home I was tired and my leg hurt so I started on Mickeys blanket. This is the first time I have used this pattern and I had to undo some of it already.

Picture a Day #3

This is what it looks like when we have our family sleep-over night.
What we do is choose a movie, a room, a night and all watch and then fall asleep when its over, or close.
Its our little tradition, its fun and feels special for the kids.
We do this most every weekend, either friday or saturday night.

Goober Dippinpants

I swipped this from a friend and thought it was great. I remember reading this in the book with the kids. Fun times indeed.

We all need a little stress-reliever!
Sometimes when you have a stressful day or week, you need some silliness to break up the day. Here is a dose of humor...A. Follow the instructions to find your new name.B. Once you have your new name, post it as the title of your post. Include the instructions so everyone can play along! The following is excerpted from a children's book, Captain Underpants And the Perilous Plot Professor Poopypants by Dave Pilkey, in which the evil Professor forces everyone to assume new names...So:

1. Use the third letter of your first name to determine your New first name:

a = snickle
b = doombah
c = goober
d = cheesey
e = crusty
f = greasy
g = dumbo
h = farcus
i = dorky
j =doofus
k = funky
l = boobie
m = sleezy
n = sloopy
o = fluffy
p = stinky
q = slimy
r = dorfus
s = snooty
t = tootsie
u = dipsy
v = sneezy
w = liver
x = skippy
y = dinky
z = zippy

2. Use the second letter of your last name to determine the first half of your new last name:

a = dippin
b = feather
c = batty
d = burger
e = chicken
f = barffy
g = lizard
h = waffle
i = farkle
j = monkey
k = flippin
l = fricken
m = bubble
n = rhino
o = potty
p = hamster
q = buckle
r = gizzard
s = lickin
t = snickle
u = chuckle
v = pickle
w = hubble
x = dingle
y = gorilla
z = girdle

3. Use the third letter of your last name to determine the second half of your new last name

:a = butt
b = boob
c = face
d = nose
e = hump
f = breath
g = pants
h = shorts
i = lips
j = honker
k = head
l = tush
m = chunks
n = dunkin
o = brains
p = biscuits
q = toes
r = doodle
s = fanny
t = sniffer
u = sprinkles
v = frack
w = squirt
x = humperdinck
y = hiney
z = juice

Thus, for example, George W. Bush's new name is: Fluffy Chucklefanny. Now when you POST THIS...use your new name as the title. And remember that children laugh an average of 146 times a day; adults laugh an average of 4 times a day. Put more laughter in your day

Picture a Day #1

We had lots of fun tonight, we had a bunnie popper fight!! Let me tell you, I was the center of all the bombs!
Whats up with that.
