Family Campout 2008, day 2

Day 2
Uncle Tim took the kids out on the lake for some fishing with the boat.
They almost caught one, the line snapped and it splashed away.
They had lots of fun anyway, they want us to get a boat.

P.S.
Dad wants a boat now also.
Big surprise huh.

Family Campout 2008

What can I say, time to chill and play zonk.
My Auntie and I were in heaven,
:)

Family Campout 2008

This year we as the extended family went camping in Lincoln city, Oregon. We stayed in the KOA that is located by the lake. It started out slow and rocky but all in all it was a good time.

The first few hours we spent in our site we had dog dooty and cat pooey that needed to be picked up. Then the young man that is responsible for the pooey came back and made some fresh piles. Apparently he lives next door to the park and causes TONS of problems for the owner. The sheriff has been out to the house more than 20 times this summer/year. Nice huh. Well his cat that was walking with him with his dog came by our tent and pee-ed on the tent in two spots, Scott's shoes-both pairs, my belt and the tarp. We had left the tent for 20 minutes and this happened. After some chatting with the owners our stuff was cleaned and washed. They are wonderful people and I am very thankful for them "putting up with me".
Well the pictures that follow this are the fun times that were had from here out!!!

Ritner Creek Park

Mr crawdad at Ritner Creek Park.
Just another hot steamy day and found some water to go play in.
The kids found this guy and we thought he was dead.
Guess what, hes very much ALIVE!

When ever dad would take a step toward him he would just flare out and try to pinch him. Usually they swimm away backwards.
I guess that this one is really mad about us picking on him, :)

More Sunsets

I just cant get enough of the beauty of sunsets and birds singing.
These are some more of my latest snaps.

Scout camp 2008

This is not the pictures that I had really wanted but this all that I have. I am waiting for some from my dad. He was the one who went with Mickey to Gilbert ranch. These are on the way and when we got there. They came home sweaty and ready for a shower. Mickey rode a horse, panned for gold, cooked over a fire and ate tons of food.

Xavier and mickey in line......

The Ladies of the Country

We found these lovely ladies on the outskirts of dallas and as we slowed down to take there pictures like 20 more turkeys showed up from nowhere!!

Swimming at Bridgeport

It has been crazy weather and on this particular day it was over 100 degrees and we wanted to go swimming. So we went to our favorite spot, bridgeport. It is the best swimming hole around and not that many go there. If there is anyone there it is always someone we know so we can all just play and visit.

The kids playing in the pools the everyone has made with the river rocks.

A picture from the water of a building across the way.

Sam and Travis just kicking it in the samll pool.

Sunset

Just one of our drives and sunsets here in oregon.
I love looking for pictures to take and there are tons here.

The Big Party

I asked Travis what kind of cake he wanted, he said he wanted me to make him one. I thought how awesome would it be to make a Pirate ship cake. So here it is along with his party pictures.
We invited some of his friends, Blake and Max are the ones that were able to make it and it was full of fun friends and family. After the party was over we had annie and the kids stay to hang out. We also had Blakes mom and kids stay. There were 10 kids running through the house and playing games. I think we had one of the best parties we could have done.

Batman

Travis Turned 6

My baby turned 6 on July 25th. Makes me so sad to think of it.
He had some presents to open on the day and then on the weekend we had some friends and family over for the day.
We barbequed and played literally all day, from 11:00 til 9:30pm.
It was a blast.

Little Guest

Our neighbors were outside and found this little cute skunk playing and looking for some trouble to get into.
Man did he come to the right place!!

I cant get over how cute he is!
Kinda makes you want for a pet-Not really, but kinda.

Farm Animals

We have some friends that have some animals and the kids love to go and see them. The pigs are so funny to watch. They climb all over the water trough and the food bin when its being filled. When you put water on the ground in the pen they roll around and make BIG messes. Travis likes it when they squeal and run really fast.
The cows all have different hair, some curly, straight, parted down the middle and afro style it is a riot. This one likes to have one piece of grass stuck in his mouth. I find it funny. I thought only the farmers walked around like this. Or is he making fun of the farmer? Hmmm.........

Ear Piercing

Sam really knows how to sweet talk dear ole' Dad. She finally asked for her ears to get pierced. I told her it was her special treat for before school-instead of more clothes. She was great, she held still and didn't even flinch. She is getting so grown up right before my eyes. I cant believe it, my baby is in middle school now.

Sam right after getting them done, getting her directions.

Ta Da, and we're done!!

The boys at the pirate store, it was so awesome.

We had never been there before, it is located in Depoe Bay.

The pirate himself

Trip to the Tidepools

Scotts cousin Mike took us to the tidepools near his house and we had fun looking at the crabs and sea anenamies. We had so much fun, we have never been there before and have plans to go back for sure!
Travis even touched some of the creatures. It is so neat I know that you can do this at the aquarium but in the real outdoors and no addmissions is even better. :)

Scott and His Hats

This is his new choice for hats,
out with the baseball caps and in with the
straw cowboy look.

Oops it been way to long

Not so sure it really matters but I am back. We have had a fun and busy summer!! Filled with scout camps, family camps, birthdays, park days, swimming and more camping!!
I think that this has been the best summer yet for us and it is almost over with. School starts on the second of September. It doesn't seem real. Its over way to soon.
So get set for a bunch of pictures and blogs in the next few days.
