State Fair and the Doodle Bops!!!

We went to the state fair on August 24Th. Scott had got some tickets online for the Doodle Bops and surprised Travis with them. Sam and Mickey were camping in Washington with some friends and we knew that they would NOT want to go see them. SO it was working out for all.

First thing when we got there they had tanks and vehicles from all the wars. They were all restored and looking great. Travis and Scott had fun looking at them and thinking about how much fun it would be to drive one of them. (I hope not, or we would be in trouble!)

We then went into the Jackman Long building and they had baby chickens hatching and some that had hatched earlier that day. Travis got to touch them. How cute are they!! Also inside this building is all the items people submit for judging. I loved looking at the cakes, quilts and the booths that were informational.
We then went to the reptile tent and Travis had a blast. He looked at all the snakes, lizards, spiders and alligators.
He liked this one so much he even touched it and started "petting"it. He is such a boy its scary sometimes.
These are spiked lizards, that is Travis petting them too! He thinks we should get some.(doubt that one)

This is his happy face when done petting the reptiles. Now he is trying to bribe me into going into the regular petting zoo. I caved of course.
Here is the kangaroo. We couldn't pet him, he was in time-out they said. He was being naughty to the other animals. Travis thought that was funny.
This is Mr. Deer he likes to eat t-shirts for dessert.

That is Scott and Travis up on the Fairlift. Dad had never been on it before and was not used to Travis being a daredevil. I guess Travis would lean over the front and look down. Dad would tell him to lean back its dangerous, Travis finally looked up at him and said" Dad, its OK there is a bar here." Ha ha,

Here we are waiting for the show to begin, smiles and all. Dad went and got him a CD and flag.
Its past time to start and the kids were getting very restless and bored, can you tell?
Ta Da, there they are, all of his favorite songs were sang and he had a blast!

His favorite is Moe, the orange one for those of you who DON'T know them well. He cant stand Dee Dee, he would plug his ears when she would sing soft and "girly" songs.

The bald guy with the red wagon is dad waiting for us to get done on the GIANT Ferris Wheel. Mom gets nervous on these and with Travis my nerves were shot.
Here he is being tired of me telling him to sit still and quit moving around.

Now this is him making fun of me and calling me a chicken and flapping his arms. He has some spice in him today for sure!

You cant go to the fair and not get an elephant ear, now can you.
Our last stop was in the forestry area and smokey the bear was there. Travis made a necklace and got to see some fish.

Our trip to the fair was great and the weather was perfect and couldn't of asked for better. Well I would have liked to of had all my kids with me but they were having fun camping without me.
