Well yesterday at my youngest child's IEP meeting I was informed that he may have what is called Verbal Apraxia or Verbal Dyspraxia. I had and still have no real idea what it is but i have began to look it up all over the web. I knew he has had speech issues and his doctor had his hearing tested and well pretty much everything tested-except for this! I am a little frustrated with the doctor because it should have been diagnosed earlier on so he could have had speech therapy at a younger age. Hmmm, sounds like normal health care in Oregon. :(
Well with the help of his current teacher and his speech teacher we will begin classes on this soon. He will first need to go and get tested to make it official. Wish us luck in the coming months and probably years. He is such an awesome kid and he has dealt with it so well so far.
